But, the Church needs more talented priests. Lots of dead weight.
Folks (especially the young ones) need to be inspired and moved by the message.

If you need a priest to inspire you, your focus is in the wrong place.
Mass needs to be more meaningful.
Know your audience.
My Catholic faith was on the severe wane 20 years ago when we moved to the Savannah area and my wife got me to go to Mass, and the priest was dynamic. Father Michael Kavanaugh (now at St. Peter the Apostle in Savannah...take in one of his masses if you're here) is 100% responsible for my renewed interest and attendance.
Also there's Father John Hays at St. Anne in Ridge Manor, Florida, whose homily style is that of a fiery Baptist preacher. Highly recommend taking in one of his Masses, too.

“Catholic Taliban”? That’s as goofy as it gets.
Characterizing many priests as “dead wood” is
Incredibly judgmental and rude.
Many are inspiring because of their selfless lives.
You inspire no one with your hate-filled comments.
He wouldn’t stick his head in the sand and blame the people leaving the church and/or not attending mass.
Jesus, as the shepherd, would seek them out, and talk with them. Outreach can work if effective, if meaningful, if connecting with the audience.
The Church needs more people attending mass. It starts with getting people through the church doors, and returning because a priest is making them feel welcome and helping them better embrace their faith.
Energy matters. Communication matters. It is the world we live in.

You obviously do not believe in The Real Presence.
If your focus was on the Tabernacle you would have all the inspiration you need.
It’s not about people being entertained.
It’s about entering through the narrow gate.

would certainly have trouble fitting through a double door entrance given his false assertion that he is Three Different People in One.
If nothing else, Jesus Opened Doors to All...who are by definition flawed. Successful Pastors are Welcoming on a personal level...which, btw...is what Pope Francis kept telling his Cardinals, Bishops and Priests to Focus on.
That phrase Conor has noted previously, holds true..."They'll know we are Christians by our Love"...of all.

and no joke, his Sunday evening Mass was Standing Room Only. Years later, when he passed away there were a couple of thousand in attendance at his Memorial Celebration. He had an uncanny ability to remember virtually everyone's name and greeted them warmly...sometimes with a friendly 'punch' in the shoulder...Never any 'Pontifications' in his homilies.
Young and old. They understand the importance of The Eucharist.
