Today is the last day for them as a channel.
As a Gen X guy, MTV raised me. Once they went the "reality" route in the 90's and beyond, they were dead to me.

I watch Stranger Things w/my teen kids & they ask about the 80s and MTV
I’ve told them that they’ll never experience the joy of a Friday night ordering a pizza, going to the video store, watching a couple of videos and staying up late watching MTV with friends.
I used to love remote control, Beavis N Butthead and Headbangers Ball.
