Your distrusting shots at Trump’s aside (I do think he cares about the Venezuelans being massacred and oppressed), this was an excellent move on multiple fronts .
Many on both sides of the aisle have wished for policy addressing the real central/S American issues spurring our border problems.
Trump just did just that.

We have removed an enemy dictator/ terrorist/ drug lord, and can now replace him with an important ally. And we have pushed the Chicoms (and Russians) out which is very important as well.

What’s happening right now. Time will tell if Corina Machado takes power, but it isn’t happening now.

I am quite confident that Don doesn’t want to annex Venezuela.
I am also sure that he will not put any communist/liberals in place after removing one.

Oh, and Trump did day that “we will run Venezuela.” I guess he meant we will “kind of” run Venezuela, huh? Trump also mentioned our oil companies will start drilling and their goal is to pay for the venture with Venezuelan oil.

But the greatest difficulty in this worthy endeavor is dealing with the anti American Left and their spin machine.

TDS’ers continuously choose to misinterpret Trump’s rambling talking style in the most negative light possible.

He clearly says we will run it until a safe, professional, and judicious transfer of power can be accomplished.
But he keeps talking and saying that “we will run it”….he obviously means it the same way as he just said…ie “we will run it temporarily”. He doesn’t repeat the second part each time….because he is referring to the issue of who will run it temporarily to avoid a dangerous power vacuum, and because he is assuming that you the listener do not have dementia and recall ground already covered.

But the MSM runs their chiron with “We will run it”…..and the Delta Bravo Brigade take their orders and march.

Maduro is an ally of Putin. His VP even fled to Russia. Look at you.

Regarding “running” Venezuela, Trump said it and it doesn’t matter the length of time…he said it. He also said he’s taking the oil. What’s your spin on that? Try to use facts instead of “Baronisms.”

The country’s oil fields? He is referring to using the sale of that oil to rebuild the country and updates its production capacity.

My worries pertain to the potential loss of troops because in order to “run” Venezuela, we’d have to have boots on the ground for a long period. If you have military tactic questions, I’m happy to answer them.

He also essentially ruled out the opposition taking over. Which was just one of the many amazing statements from that press conference.

Trump said that the opposition leader doesn’t have the popularity or support to take power. My issue with that is, who’s to say that Maduro’s VP wasn’t complicit in illegalities too?

Regarding the Venezuelan military…I expect some loyalists to fight and fight hard, just like the dignity battalions that fought hard in Panama.
