The ends never justify the means on moral issues. It is a moral standard - and I completely agrrs with it.
Whether Maduro is treated as a legitimate leader when he illegally usurped power and abuses his citizens is a matter of legality only - he has not been mistreated nor killed, nor tortured, and he will stand trial.
As a country, we do not simply do this to any leader with whom we disagree. In fact, this is not a leader at all.
I want to add “respectfully” to this because I do respect you ethics quite a bit…
…but I do not grant Maduro the same status that you do.
He is not a leader of state, he is a minor usurper of power with no standing.
If you ask me why not do this to N Korea or Russia’s leader …myanswer is simply that we cannot because they hold enough power to prevent it. Maduro isn’t do lucky. We owe him nothing other than the basic humane treatment of all prisoners who stand trial, and he is getting that.
