increase for subway riders was approved back in Sept. of 2025...i.e. it had NOTHING to do with Mayor Mamdani...attached is another article explaining what's going on with NYC transit fares and operations...here's an excerpt...
Good Grief, but you MAGAs are an embarrassment to this University.

The board of the M.T.A., a state agency, approved a 10-cent increase to fares in September, raising the cost of a single ride to $3 from $2.90, as my colleague Stefanos Chen reported. The fare hike, along with others on tunnels, bridges and commuter trains, was expected to raise $350 million a year in additional revenue for the transit authority.
But unaccompanied minors 17 and under will get a break: They can now ride the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad for $1. The previous age limit was 11.

Director of his Office to Protect Tenants:
Transitioning to treat private property as a collective good and a model of shared equity will mean that families, especially white families, are going to have a different relationship to property than the one we currently have.

Conversely, it is perfectly logical to parse out a fraction of a quote and use it as a bogus headline for years if it's said by someone with the wrong sociopolitical leanings.
said "Words matter, when certain people say them".
understand what that means...

…without it you have no credibility or honor…does that matter to you?
One other thing...I did a quick board search of all posters over the last 90 days who used the term "Words Matter"...there were only two...Tampa and myself. Don't believe Tampa was referring to himself, but who knows...ergo my effort to draw him out.

to do with raising or lowering fares. New Yorkers knew this increase was on the horizon last spring.
As for service. The truth is, if you’re a late evening or weekend traveler, the subways absolutely suck. Delays, wait times can be 40 minutes to over an hour with transit times once on the train can be an hour or longer if your destination is outside of midtown manhattan. A late night rider can literally take next to 2 hours to get from the village to Inwood (still in Manhattan). Hochul’s stats are political face saving malarkey.
With that being said, your post is just MAGAbullshit - or just plain nonsense.
