And I mean Trump is doing it. The DOJ’s independence is gone.

Banana republic shit.

Powell has definitely worked in Dem interests rather than being neutral. He has nothing to worry

about if he didn't lie to congress.

It was a several billion dollar project for which he simply had to explain the needs and describe the specific plans for building upgrade in order to get congressional approval.
If there are reasons for the massive over run, those will come out, and Powell need not worry.

Regarding going after Powell......he inexplicably cut rates leading up to the elections to help Biden which was unprecedented. His cuts in the face of inflation under Biden were inexplicable as well. His comments about the Biden inflation crisis being "transitory" was incompetent and dead wrong. It was exactly what the Dem WH wanted him to say at the time though ...this was SO bad, in fact, that one has to conclude that he was partisan (yes I know Trump appointed in his first term him on the advice of someone now gone - the downside of being a Washington outsider at the time). His actions since that time have upheld that suspicion....he refused to cut rates under Trump FAR longer than was necessary to "make sure the inflation was really not still a threat". He also refused to step down when trump said he wanted him out (and he will be replaced this winter anyways).

Trump was put through legal hell for false charges by his political adversaries. Now, he sees adversaries committing crimes routinely in the swamp of DC - he he figures what is good for the goose, is good for the gander. I get it. It is a disturbing trend which the Dems started with their lawfare. If Powell didn't lie, he will have nothing to fear. I think we all suspect that Powell did indeed lie since these charges have gone forward.

Should the Fed Chair - immune to a degree only exceeded by the SCOTUS - be above the law, Chris? Does your slogan "No Kings" just apply to your rivals, and not yourselves on the Left?

Thank you for the affirmation, True South, but I don't need it.

Petty... just petty. But not surprising.
