HIs prognosis wasn't good last spring, and was largely expecting that late summer would be the end. A doctor gave him some possible hope (~30%) with the new drug, but apparently it didn't work. He was expecting January was going to be it.

Awful. Just a brilliant guy who really wanted to make people laugh and make a difference in the world.

I don't get it. There's no reaction from the church goers. There's no connection between the comic strip he reads and the gospel of the day. Weird.
