Clearly they don’t have the same values, keep our Men & Women who elected to serve the hell out of there, just my opinion. Not blaming any president, but at what point do you say enough, and move on.
years' experiences in Afghanistan. You will know how we contributed to Afghans corruption, how ignorant, navie and incompetent we are and how our domestic politics drove our leaders make one mistake by another mistake.
Yes, we're supposed not to care about it if our government and leaders can handle it properly. It is sad that we average Joe have to care about it, because our uncle Joe couldn't handle it.
But doing so in a way that left our citizens and allies vulnerable was awful.
And if it could be done why wasn’t the plan in place since last year when the withdrawal by 5/1 was agreed to?
planning is criminal...especially when dealing with the fucking Taliban.
Biden was advised (told) to do it. He is old and declining and wouldn't be able to communicate in a crisis in the best of circumstances. Couple that with him trying to defend a decision which I don't think he made and he's left grasping.
I was stating that what everyone is outraged about is the manner in which we did, not the fact that we left.
So, yes, I agree with you.
The horrific way in which it was carried out was. We're in agreement.
embarrassment. Joe just made sure it would be as embarrassing as possible.
Couple of things were gonna happen no matter what after we left with the collapse of their army. First is the war material they were going to seize. The second is a lot of Afghans who helped us were gonna get left behind cause of the visa process. Three it was gonna look like abandonment and provide fantastic propaganda to our enemies.
So far no Americans have been killed or injured and we are also getting a lot of the Afghans out. The embassy was evacuated successfully. Just hope that continues.
Or maybe some do?
But even the Euros are aghast at our gross incompetence and passivity. NATO might just as well disband.
warnings, lied about it, lied about the situation on follow up, failed to work with our allies and fulfill our promised obligations in withdrawing-in fact failed to even communicate with them, where Biden also failed to care about our allies who were dying, and then finally issued blank visas that the Taliban has procured and is in the process of sending operatives to the US as we speak.
The idea of withdrawal is debatable and has merit and is not the issue.
Very few people are criticizing the decision to pull out. That is a strategic decision regarding how to wage the war on terror. Stay and suppress? Or pull back and regroup for the next battle. Judgement call of the Commander in Chief.
But, almost everyone is criticizing how it was done...in the worst way possible, basically telling our allies and citizens to go fuck themselves.
Notice that there is a big difference there. Your post doesn't seem to be aware of that difference.

Are you trying to argue that the US provoked the 9/11 attacks? I hope not.
These people want to kill the infidel. I assume you agree with that? Why do you think they want to kill us? Their religious sect teaches that they should hate us.
But how many lives and $’s do you sacrifice to realize we’re right back where we started??? And what has changed????
You can't give freedom to people who don't want it. Freedom has to be earned; it cannot be provided.
You can't nation build among jihadists. You can't give "be nice" seminars on people who think they can honor kill their daughters.
All you can do is kill them in sufficient numbers so that they realize that wanting to kill American children is a very bad idea...which means most of them, not just a lot of them. We didn't kill enough of them.
I hope we learned our lesson, because this war is not over. This war will not be over for another 100 years or so, until they realize that attacking the United States is a bad idea. Don't take a 4 year or even 20 year view of this. Think bigger.
But, the only reason we are outraged now is not because we should have stayed, but because we should have left in a way in which we pulled out non-combatants first, not last. It's a pretty basic concept, actually.
I'm reminded of Reagans words, paraphrased: We can have peace at any time. All we have to do is surrender. But, if you don't want to surrender to evil, then you have to fight until evil surrenders.
It’s like teaching students that don’t care. At what point do you get them to care and when do things change?
But the problems go to the fact that the people in our 4 branches of Government (the Intel community being the fourth) get dumber as they rise to the top.
