Looks like he was legal to carry the gun and some mags.
Looks like his gun had a red dot on it.
Parents said he did not carry often.
Did he have “one in the pipe”?
The agents can’t assume that the gun had to be chambered
How experienced was he as a shooter?
Red dots generally require some practice, as does a
semi-automatic.
I would not be against an investigation in this case.
But I wonder why he would carry in this situation.

But the gun shouldn't be the issue, it was legal.
Fighting with 7 cops is the issue.
7 cops unable to contain one man (who didn't look like he's MMA or something) is an issue.
Did he actually try to pull the gun?
Why was he shot (reportedly) 9 times?

They shot him because of the gun. Otherwise they rough him up and subdue him.
I agree that there are lots of unanswered questions.
Magazines hold 21, so he was actually carrying 42 or 43 shots depending if one was in the chamber.
There are some claims online that this model can accidentally discharge, denied by Sig of course.
Why the reflex sight? This guy is either a gun enthusiast or this is what you'd give to someone who doesn't know guns. Put the dot on the target, pull the trigger...
Very strange.
Granted, there are times you have to violate rule #1, which is why I have a permit. But was this really one of them?...go to zone full of law enforcement...and full of people provoking law enforcement? And if you do have to accept the risk of going to such a zone, maybe you also accept the risk of not carrying a firearm.
Another rule: Always comply with law enforcement. The only time to violate that rule is if you are a revolutionary. So why did he resist? Was he intending to revolt against our government?
Willing to wait for facts, but the dead dude had to make a number of decisions unrelated to ICE to end up dead.
Regarding his gun: Not really a carry gun, IMO. It is big, and it was made bigger with the site. I know some people carry big guns, but you sacrifice concealment when you go big. Then again, when it is so cold, maybe size of weapon isn't a big deal.
[Edit to explicitly state that I agree with all your points in your post above and your post below.]
Mr. Pretti worked. Have you considered that he had that Carry Permit to provide extra protection for Doctors and other Nurses in case a Security Guard was overwhelmed and had his weapon taken?...Also note that ER and ICU Docs and Nurses are often "On Call" to show up at any time, Day or Night...so, Mr. Pretti would need his weapon with him All The Time.
Being a MAGA, that's too much to comprehend, so I'll give you a pass for innate ignorance.

If I were to carry, it wouldn't be that thing with an extra mag.
Agree with your other points.
Chris will say they are irrelevant.

Who was he prepared to shoot? Other protesters?

Doesn’t mean you will shoot it.
