This would be a joke if it weren’t so close to what he has actually been saying.

Pretty sure we have abandoned no one. We could have been doing it earlier, but it is simply false to say we have abandoned anyone.
Once the allies came in and once the media coverage went south, Biden sent people back in. But only after refusing to say if he would help allies, and only after Biden’s general asked the Brits to “stop making us look bad” and to stop rescuing people outside of the airport.
And now in his incompetence and acting behind the 8 Ball, BidenHandlers print blank VISAs and distribute them widely in Kabul to be self filled out……but I’m sure that the Taliban is acting with restraint’ and won’t take advantage of that, right?
A few days ago, you echoed Biden in saying there was no other way to do this and that this is what withdrawal looks like.
This is utter incompetence and we will lose more than we save because Biden doesn’t know enough to remove the troops last and to keep Bagram (I asked you back almost 2 weeks ago why we wouldn’t do this, and like Biden with Boris Johnson, you didn’t answer.
It’s 25 miles away from Kabul. It would not help getting people out at all.
When you think everything Biden does is wrong, then your analysis has no credibility at all.
So spare me.

are gonna make it to Kabul under this plan? Really looking forward to your answer.
Mere miles from capital could prove valuable later. Our best minds game-planned this!

Maintaining Bagram does not mean that we would not also be using the Kabul airport at this point for the people in the city (these things do not have to be mutually exclusive - one for the other - that is the kind of Biden think that got us into this mess). But many thousands of the people who need to get out of Afghanistan are not in the city of Kabul, and now they cannot get there without trying to get by the Taliban. They are stuck. Bagram would be at least be another alternative.....But the use of Bagram as a waystation is NOT the main reason for keeping it.and thus you, like Biden, aren't really grasping the long term use of this facility.
You mention nothing of its' main use as a valuable strategically located military asset, and it's use for storage of our weapons which are now in enemy hands.
And we are leaving next week. So holding a base sorta defeats the purpose.
Bagram with it's multiple runways is a damn good reason.

To dismiss this is to once again say, "This is unavoidable. Inevitable. this si what withdrawal looks like".
Now, after screwing the pooch, no option is without problems. A planned move with Afghani allies being brought in by military personale to the airbase as well as to the Kabul airport would have allowed for a faster evacuation. Had VISAs been prepared ahead of time, this would have been way easier. Without VISA's, we still could transport these people to a holding area to sort things out over more time.
Wrt the base, i am thinking of something not unlike Guantanamo. It would need an "Iron Dome" -like defense. It would give us great reach in the area.

To the extent that any observer has a fucking clue, it will happen.
Just like some lacked the reasoning ability to project a Taliban takeover before January, some lack the reasoning ability to see an inevitable disaster for Afghan allies.
to be competent, focused, or effective at the job."
Trump would definitely have gotten the “I’m just the messenger” insert in the question.
