Are we headed off an unemployment cliff without any plan on how to adjust?
Maybe AI is writing all these articles predicting mass job replacement by AI and robots... or maybe they have some basis in reality.
Regardless, I've heard no political prescriptions for how to address the issue.
If we go to a guaranteed income... how on earth would this be set AND MORE IMPORTANTLY how would it possibly address the humongous divergence/gap in current debt commitments?
Some folks have huge mortgages and car payments... what happens if their guaranteed income cannot make these payments" Wiil we see mass foreclosures and repossessions? And what will that do to the economy?
Does AI mean the collapse of capitalism?

Microsoft is gunning for lead 'share of mind' when it comes to AI...but there are other views on its
utility...i.e. more as a tool for better human decision making...and let's not forget that at this point in time, and for quite awhile into the future, the best humans are superior to AI when it comes to more original and nuanced ideas.

These statements generate investment, they don’t reflect reality.
As some have pointed out, there is an AI bubble. All the purveyors of AI platforms are jockeying to position themselves as the leader. So, they want to make it seem like they are close to cracking the code. If they were really close to cracking the code, they wouldn’t say anything.
By "leader" do you mean leader are you referring to the "AI Singularity"?
If so, I'm not convinced we will reach that point, but yet I am amazed on a daily basis what is happening.
Replacing white-collar work is a slam dunk, it's happening, probably on the scale of 18 months as Curly's article points out. This will be devastating to society and capitalism as an economic system especially since it will happen so quickly.
Anthropic (ClaudeAI and Claude Code) is writing 90% of it's own code.
The ClawBot/MoltBook thing is stunning, I posted an article last week. AI agents collectively and autonomously social engineering humans on social media to spin up more nodes... This is scary.

If it happens, they'll ignore it until state's unemployment coffers run dry then pass a bill
for infrastructure that puts money into the pockets of consultants, then they'll start a big war
