Catholic Bishops of Indiana are now defining illegals as "unauthorized immigrants"..
They have petitioned members of the Indiana legislature to come up with a peaceful and dignified pathway to citizenship. Not sure what the Indiana legislature can do but I will tell the Bishops that the pathway is to leave the country in a dignified manner then apply for entry like many before have done. No cuts. Safe. Effective. Dignified.

Indiana’s legislature has no control over U.S. citizenship. And there is a way.
Go back to your country and get in line like law abiding citizens. Your first act as wannabe citizen should not be to break the law.

We already have a process...it requires Congress to define needed changes in the law and then fund
them...like Trump called for in 2019...and the Senate passed in 2024.
The sad truth is that Trump never really wanted to give up his Border Security/Immigration Reform Cudgel that would keep MAGA voters supporting his chaotic "Policies". All rational people agree with the need for more legal immigration, but Trump hasn't done a thing to achieve it...we need more judges and support staff to house and vet the many immigrants coming to our door., and the millions already here, so that the wait time for acceptance, or rejection, is no longer than 6 months...not 6+ years.
Trump himself said last year that hard working, law abiding undocumented immigrants who have been in
the U.S. for many years should be able to stay here and get documented...just focus on the criminals. I'm quite sure RCC Bishops all over the country would agree with that.

Dignity, there wouldn’t be all this backlash. Deport the violent illegal criminals like he promised and let the hard workers get back to life. Pretty simple concept, huh?
Caesar Chavez was against illegal workers. So was Obama, Clinton, Joe, Nancy, Chuckie.
Until they realized that was a whole new pool of voters for their party. Plus, who else was going to clean their pools. And speaking of Martha's Vineyard, they were so thrilled with the thought of unauthorized immigrants in their community they called in the evil national guard to remove them. DJT is trying to work a fine line to help our farmers by proposing long standing illegal workers to stay. They have to come out of the shadows. They can't vote. They pay taxes. He still has his strict immigration policy that he ran on and won butting heads with this proposal though. With the bishops redefining of illegals to unauthorized, that was a clear signal that they were trying to BS their flock yet again.

Having said that, I 100% support deporting proven violent criminals.
All those I named at one time were against illegal immigration.
Then they realized that these illegals could be their future voters.
For the record, I’m 100% for voter ID laws…
Just not executive order voter ID law. It needs to be on the ballot, IMO.
And I’m sure there were very few illegals that have voted…not enough to make a difference, though. Non-issue…just another MAGA fallacy.
