She stuttered...but she gave the right answer

Our official policy is nicknamed "strategic ambiguity" - we do not say what we would do in case of a Chinese attack. We think doing so gives the best chance of preventing an attack.

A MUCH better answer than Biden used to give to that question. The stutter is odd - just took her a minute to remember the policy.

Usually when members of the House get that question - from Gingrich to Pelosi - they screw it up. She got it.

She didn't say anything, but you read her mind into what you think is the correct answer.

Congressman, I'll start with you. Would and should the US actually commit US troops to defend Taiwan if China were to move?
Um, you know, I think that uh this is such a uh you know, I I think that this is a um this is of course a a very long-standing um policy of the United States. Uh and I think what we are hoping for is that we want to make sure that we never get to that point and we want to make sure that we are moving in all of our economic research and our global positions to avoid any such confrontation and for that question to even arise.

Thread Level: 6

The non-answer IS the answer. Google “strategic ambiguity” and “China” and learn something.

The China stuff - once she started talking - was not bad.

How stupid does your answer have to be in order to maintain ambiguity?

And the “normals” would be losing their shit. But since it’s a Democrat, she stuttered. Remember when we were told Biden’s problems were just a stutter. Funny how that works. Party over country, always.

I hold the record for most deleted posts. I think it’s personal. +50

going say Yes or No to U.S. Troops in Taiwan and create headline news all over the world...even DJT's Ambassador to NATO, who answered just after her, dodged the question (go to the 31:00 min mark to watch both of them speak). More importantly, watch the whole 1 hr. video as I did to get a true appreciation for AOC, Gov. Whitmer and Ambassador Matt Whitaker. Rep. Ocasio-Cortez handled herself very well...much better than Whitaker IMO. btw, getting a 2nd place in an Intel International Science Competition shows she's got a lot more 'marbles' that many posters on this forum.
