Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain who is finagling with the national budget

It's all smoke and mirrors and EVERYONE is to blame.

I don't recall any SOTU address raising this issue much less proposing a path toward resolution.

I suspect the Dems will regain power and take over the economy in its entirety.

Unfortunately, the Chinese are much better at centralized control of EVERYTHING.

He appears serious about raising the DOD budget by 50%

That, combined with tax cuts, will guarantee that he adds more to the debt than any president. And more than most combined.

He's a panderer... like all of them.

He doesn't give a damn about cutting taxes... he's already taking advantage of all the loopholes that lobbyists for both parties have paid for.

Each party has their own favorite way of increasing the national debt. Pick one when you vote.

I don't support any increase in the national debt. Alas, no candidate that supports reductions in spending would ever be nominated for president.

If the Trump administrations proposed cuts to non-necessary agencies would be passed (even abolish several agencies), allowing more necessary spending like national security, then that would be great...but nothing gets cut very much.

When it comes to defense, we probably just need to shuffle around our spending...less emphasis on major systems, and more spending on cheaper munitions systems and other military strategies employed by Ukraine. I really hope we have a lot of observers over there; I assume we do.

The DoW (DoD) failed it's 8th consecutive audit last year.

All funding should be suspended until they can pass an audit.

China isn't any good at it, either.

They have the most repressive surveillance state in the world, and yet millions of functionaries in the government were so poorly selected that Xi chose to purge them.
