Back in of no traffic behind, otherwise pull in. A woman who backs in is a man.

My car’s automatic parking backs in flawlessly. It won’t pull in on its own.

Depends entirely on traffic and my expectations when leaving.

If I expect heavy traffic in the lot when I leave, AND I can pull forward into the spot from the adjacent spot, I will do that so that I can turn straight out and go.

If traffic in the lot is currently hectic and I would have to go through the multi-point turn exercise to back into a spot, I won't do it. Seems inconsiderate to hold up traffic for mild personal convenience.

If I don't expect major traffic when I leave, I just pull on into the spot forward.

Correct. Only sociopaths back in 100% of the time.

Yep. Depends. I prefer to point out, but traffic conditions control.

Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant, then it tries to silence good.

gotta back it up at some point coming or going and it's usually easier (more space) and more predictable backing out of the spot.

exception: if the battery has recently discharged and had to be jumped, i back in as a precaution for a while.

I find Back-Ins most prevalent when virtually everyone will be leaving at the same time...like

after Mass ;-)...much easier to hit the road. I confess that I've gone both ways, but if there are cars behind me, I'll Pull-In, so as not to impede them...and my go-to method is "P-I".

Depends on the spot and the vehicle I am driving.

If I'm driving my F-150 I am more likely to back in, if it's the wife's highlander I am more likely to pull in straight. Has everything to do with turning radius.

Thread Level: 3

Turning Radius has a lot to do with it…not all Aisles are the same width.

I pull in mostly - quick and easy and in comparison to backing in

Backing out is fairly quick. But turning radius is a solid point.

to a parking spot. It can cause some confusion to the driver behind you. They think you’re passing the spot and then all of a sudden you put your car in reverse. I’ve seen many people get pissed off .

Also, those that back into parking spots at Costco are total idiots.

This derives from the fact that before cameras they always held things up. Today I’m just envious because it makes departures so much more efficient
