Ivanpah was a poorly designed Anti-Nuke solution from the get-go. The 'Left' has its extremists,
just like the 'Right' has its "Drill, Baby, Drill" Climate Deniers. Fortunately, reality is beginning to set in on both sides as GEN-IV Reactors, Fuel Fabrication and Waste Treatment systems are being funded, with commercial construction hopefully beginning in the early 2030's.
You know all the executives were Dems, and all got great bonuses.
Even when these things fail, the Dem donors involved make a ton of money as the tax dollars flow into their personal investment accounts. This also helps Congressmen get rich, since they invest and are no doubt paid first, and money is donated to their reelection campaigns as well.
It is no wonder Dems want to raise taxes. It is certainly not to pay down the debt. It is for private money making enterprises like this that they tout as clean energy to get the taxpayers to feel good while funding fraud.
I wonder how that California high speed rail project is going....
