Taxes get raised incrementally as increased populations vote for politicians who promise goodies.

If you are paying attention, the Dems are running (AND WINNING WITH) middle aged white women who pretend to be moderate but as soon as elected go all in progressive.

It's the old frog in the pot of water being heated slowly.
