a terrible negotiator and he’s a paper-tiger.
Trump aimlessly misjudged the risks, the task at hand, the repercussions, and the costs.
He needs to accept the reality, cut our losses, and find an exit ramp.
This Administration is a shitshow!
If we put troops on the ground in Iranian territory, we will have really jammed our fist into the hornets’ nest.
De-escalation is the only wise move now.
I know they have a shit load of drones, but I have to doubt their ability to truly fight us on the battlefield. It would take a while, but we’d overwhelm them quickly…hopefully.
Trump claims to “own the sky.” Why is it that Iran can still launch missiles and drones? Do they have advanced mobile missile systems?
US troops will continue to crush them.
Tactical success, however, does not always bring strategic victory.
We won every battle in Vietnam, both small and large. Crushed them every time.
None of it was decisive.
If they are willing to take a bigger beating than we are, they can win.
Controlling the strait, plus the regime staying in power is all Iran needs to do, knowing we are spending $2 billion per day.
And unlikely we are winning “hearts and minds” with our bombing campaign.
At least one of its brigades, that is.
Looks like a ground war is imminent. As soon as this weekend, even.
Any news on Armor and other heavy assets being moved over?
Also, Iran is a tough, mountainous environment. We can overcome that with an airborne insertion, but it wouldn’t be easy. We’d take substantial casualties.
Maybe trying to take Kharg, though. Or the area next to the strait.
It would take months for a major invasion force to get there. No armor is on the move.
...unless you know something different. The 10th deployment was announced quite some time ago, wasn't it?...granted, they could be redirected from anti-ISIS mission. Or, maybe Trump is trying to intimidate Iran by calling attention to something planned before the attack, as if it is for this attack on Iran.
