Peaceful co-existence is almost always in the national interest. And we had achieved that with Iran, with the JCPOA.
There is a direct line between the US reneging on that deal in 2018 and the war now. And we will have a festering wound there for the rest of our lives.

JFK .... that covers my lifetime.
Disagreed with some on policy and other things, but they all had competent and experienced folks in their Administrations .... and none of whom would have blown up the JCPOA, and then gone to war last month.
