I don’t fault Vance re the Islamabad discourse, given his marching orders from Trump.
Even though I regard Vance as dishonorable on many fronts, I believe he could shepherd a long term agreement if left to negotiate on his own terms. And I would prefer Vance to Rubio or Kush or the other pretender.
Trump set Vance up for failure. The negotiations had zero chance with US demands for Iran to capitulate on everything.
Sometimes the best move in a negotiation is to walk away.
