Perhaps if the Dems had not gone so extreme on so many critical issues... they would be back as the majority.

The Rs will snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. The were made for 2nd place complacency.

Fundraising. DC parties. Working the "my hands are tied" angle. Democrats try to exert power where they have none and Rs will relinquish power when they have it. If I was a Dem , I wouldn't worry too much.
