First of all, 195 Countries have joined the "Paris Agreement" on Climate Change, and they have in no way turned their backs on the reality of CC...nor their commitment to transition away from FFs for Heat and Power...in fact the worldwide Oil & Gas Industry acknowledges this reality and is also transitioning it's business model.

As for Democrats in the U.S., their current political strategy is focused more the immediate needs of Americans, and the damage that Trump is wreaking.

David Marcus is a member of the "PayPal Gang" (incl. Elon Musk, Peter Thiel and David Sacks) who have been supporting (or using) DJT for their anti-democracy ends.

In any event, you need to do some research into this subject, since anyone with an ounce of technology background wouldn't ask such an uninformed question...nevertheless, I'll give you a short answer...if the entire world stopped adding greenhouse gases today, our already changing weather would not improve for several decades due to the slow dissipation of the existing gigatons of FF CO2 in the atmosphere.
