Was in Vegas. Up very early because my body was still on eastern time. Walked down to Starbucks in the hotel and ordered a venti latte w/ an extra shot of expresso. $12 - fuck me. Effing Vegas....

The "Budweiser" of coffee... Remember an intersection in Midtown Manhattan that had a Starbucks on
...all four corners.

Neighborhoods can be very tight in NYC...reminiscent of early days in Queens...a soda shop on our
side of the street, and one on the other side...and never the twain should meet...two different worlds.

That sounds very believable. They had a "major city" saturation strategy.
Many have closed, but it worked for a while.
