Very few psychologically healthy human beings want anything to do with the circus.
It's a compensation for deep seated conflicts and anxieties.
The more power these positions have, the more the power hungry seek them.
You can't aggregate power into government positions, and then expect those who just want to serve to run for these positions.
And, with more and more power at stake in each election, the more polarized people become. It becomes intolerable to deal with the other side civilly and wait calmly for 4 years for the next election. Everyone elected person is characterized as an autocrat, and needs to be removed as soon as possible by any means necessary... so much so that if impeachments fail, then even multiple assassination attempts are justified with petty sophistries like whataboutism.
There are a heck of a lot more disturbed people on the other side. In office and on the streets.
Looting, arson, vandalism, murder. We can compare J6 to the George Floyd riots. The financial cost. The number injured and murdered. Arrests. The length of time. Those are Democrats and the Dem office holders who said nothing, even supporting fundraisers to bail these mofos out. So, to say there are impaired personalities on both sides is wildly misleading.
