I don't know about you, but Iran doesn't appear to be "begging" to make a deal. #quagmire

No, they’re not begging for a deal, at least so far. I’m afraid they’re even not interested in

negotiating with us. The apearance of negotiation is just a game because what they demand for negotiation is ridiculous. They don’t trust us at all. When you killed 175 school students, when you killed a country’s legitimate leader without officially declaring a war against that country, how could you get trust by your opponent?

All sorts of public and private posturing going on now

All that matters at this point is getting that strait open. Any return to war would be sorta shocking - and unbelievably stupid on our part.

Thread Level: 3

The Strait is more important than nuclear capable Islamic jihadis?

Since they are nowhere near nuclear capability, yes

And I have news: if they got nuclear weapons, they wouldn’t use them. They’d be as rational as North Korea, who have had nukes for 20 years, and never came remotely close to using them.

WE (whoever we are) get nukes for defense; THEY want nukes for offense.

It’s a misperception.

But they are not close. And they have always been willing to negotiate about that issue. About missiles & support for their regional allies…not so much.

We're you one of the ones criticizing "the deal" that didn't exist a week or so ago?

That is because they are led by a psychopathic death cult.

Why anyone thinks we should compromise with that is beyond me.

With the will of the American people, we can easily wait this out. Who wouldn't trade high gas prices for peace in the Middle East without troops on the ground?

Thread Level: 3

Hardly. They are negotiating very rationally.

They have Trump by his low-hanging, shriveled, old-guy balls, and everyone knows it.

One speaking for many...smh! As for your Iran comment, I hear daily how Iran is begging for a deal

or we are close to a deal then more confrontations. We are kidding ourselves that keeping Iran in check means are "safety".

In a roundabout way, you're agreeing that Iran is not begging for a deal then, correct?

Do you feel this confrontation is 'winnable' in it's current form? More importantly the American people are being directly hurt by it all. This isn't a worldwide pandemic peeling off the unexpected. We willingly went into this war thinking Iran would fold and they have not.

There're already pipelines being deployed to bypass the Strait.

We are a net exporter of oil, high oil prices actually help us as a nation in the aggregate.

The leaders in Iran want to die in this conflict so they can rape virgins in the afterlife. So yes, they aren't interested at all in my 5 point plan.

We will have to grant their wish, and kill them. And then my 5 point plan comes into play after they run out of Jihadis.

If that strait stays closed into the summer, the world economy will seize up. A real risk of global depression.

Don’t take my word for it - listen to the CEO of Exxon.
