It's obviously a communist plot to distract our youth from a patriotic fanaticism for our "nativist" sports.
Yes... geezers over 40 are blissfully unaware of the games themselves and the millions of non-Americans who've invaded our beautiful land and are spending fortunes in our sacred athletic temples and places of worshipful imbibing.
What's troubling is the number of young folks who seem enthralled by a sport that does not involve gargantuan males with highly specialized but limited skills.
What's worse is the insidious mixing of cultures and races that could lead to unpure miscegenation of our beautiful people.

Well I realize your sarcasm is meant for people who don't care about soccer like me. So I am going
to approach your sarcasm this way. Maybe those guys have been bored playing soccer and are sick of 1-0 games or even worse, settling games on penalty kicks, where the goalie's only chance of stopping the play is if he guesses right, unless a guy kicks the ball like Rapinoe, or the girl in the All State commercial. They find the American way, better than they thought or ever imagined, so can you picture how much they would love real football with touchdowns and preventing touchdowns, with hard hitting and exciting passing and running besides the partying and tailgating that goes with it. I am very glad they are appreciating the American way of life with capitalism.
I am rooting for the USA, that and the appreciation for capitalism we agree on.

Well said. I confess to being an addict to the sado-masochistic sport of American football.
But I cringe every time I see one of our gladiators in pain... having been there too many times myself.
Yeah it hurts me too in my little experience with high school and interhall but the camaradie
and the zest which we laugh over it all, makes it worth it for most of those who participated. It is amazing to me how many pros and even I as a small participant minior say we would do it all over again. Hoops not the same, baseball not the same and certainly the more minor sports not the same.
