The US should ban live prop betting.

It's a scourge on sports.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame

Agree. Prop betting on events with easily controlled outcomes is especially insane!

The PGA Tour, USGA and R&A have got to clean this up and ban cell phones at the Majors at least...

...otherwise it's just going to get worse. I Marshaled at the 2000/2010 U.S. Opens at Pebble Beach where Restrictions/Bans were enforced...no one suffered...and as the Masters' total ban shows it can still be implemented elsewhere. The USGA loosened its restrictions at Chambers Bay in 2015 by allowing cell phone usage only at designated locations on the course...if someone were to violate that rule, they would be escorted out of the premises...personally, I'd like to see the total ban implemented.

Note that the Juiced Up Yahoos will still be in attendance, but muted.

This looks like a great article, but it is paywalled.

Interesting. Had alluded to this. It will impact every sport more and more…

The impact on golf is more pronounced because it relies on etiquette. And viewers aren’t in a fixed position as often.

Problem for sports is it generates interest and they are becoming more and more reliant upon it. Even if those interested don’t give a crap about the people/teams they are wagering on…
