Is there a more Cali headline that could ever be conjured? Doesn't this make you want to move to Cali? Southern Cali is about five years away from Mad Maxland. Not the first Mad Max, but Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior.Amazingly, if he sticks around, Mel can reprise his role.

Don’t worry…most fly-over state inhabitants think LA represents all of Southern California. It’s a normal misconception.
You even don’t have a football team, a truly American sport, to represent your city. Oh, btw, could you tell me which conference San Diego state play for? Once a while they’re good I remember. LOL. Your contribution to Southern California, good or bad, is marginal except geography, I.e. a good location.
Ignorant statement. We’re proud of our military community. In fact, we cherish our Navy and Marine corps brothers and sisters, but San Diego is so much more than “just” a military town.
Also, I didn’t know it was a requirement for one of the greatest cities in the USA to have a football team. I suppose in your small mind that matters, but for those of us who’ve lived here for many years love our city for what it is….shear beauty in every way. You hate us ‘cause you ain’t us.
not necessarily a bad term about the city. Don’t get too sensitive too defensive.
2. I would add touristy to San Diego. Your city is a Military+ touristy town. You don’t have anything else to offer to represent Southern California which is one of largest regions in terms of culture, economy and population in the country.
This reminds me of another military + touristy town I visited but know much less than San Diego: San Antonio TX. Although both cities are military + touristy town, I just feel San Antonio has deep-rooted community. Their neighborhoods are more tight-knit for families. In San Diego I just didn’t find that kind of authentic local feel. I remember one Christmas season we drove around San Diego, we didn’t see much spectacular Christmas lights in residential areas. I would say the San Diego has the worst Christmas lights among major cities we went.
Of course a good football team, either professional or college, is an unwritten requirement for a big city. Otherwise what else do you guys do on Saturday or Sunday during fall? Do all others like you just talk nonsense online during that period?
Southern California. You claim that SD lacks culture and that the city has nothing else to offer other than tourism. What a crock of shit. You obviously have a VERY limited scope when it comes to San Diego. Next time you're in town, try visiting Balboa Park, the Gas Lamp Quarter, Mt. Soledad, Sunset Cliffs, Old Town, Pt. Loma, Julian, et al... This city is a true cultural melting pot with hispanic roots dating back hundreds of years.
2. For your information, there are countless family friendly neighborshoods in San Diego county and guess what? Some have amazing Christmas lights too. What a stupid false statement from you.
3. And no, having a football team is not un unwritten rule for a large city. That's just dumb made Chicom bullshit. On Saturdays I watch ND football and on Sundays, I watch whatever NFL game i want to watch. Dumb ass.

Following your logic, a Hawaiian can claim Hawaii represents USA by pointing out the Waikiki beach. You just offered nothing to support your point but everything to support my point.
Of course you watch ND football and other cities’ football. As a local resident you even don’t support your local team. Again, in what conference San Diego state play? You probably even don’t know. Everything you said proves my point and my experience in San Diego. The city lack that kind deeply rooted community vibe. You’re just too dumb to realize it.
It's rich in culture with many museums. Locals and tourists enjoy it on a daily basis. You really are stupid. No offense intended. Also, I listed many other destinations in San Diego. I could list more, but you still wouldn't understand, since English is hard for you to understand.
You have no idea about San Diego. You may have visited, but you don't understand the deep Hispanic cultural roots of the city. Do more research before making false statements. In words, your opinion is baseless and uninformed. Fuck off.
I probably went to national city more than you did in your whole life in San Diego up to today. Not a good neighborhood, but best homemade food restaurants to my taste. Average 4 times a week going there for 1+ years. This fact hopefully gives you an idea how well I know San Diego. Fuck off.

It's not the totality of Southern California.
The dysfunction and lunacy of LA obscure it. The dysfunction and lunacy stretch all the way up to Sacramento. The agricultural areas of Cali have normal people, but are exponentially outnumbered by the loons, freaks, and America-haters elsewhere in the state.
I was thrown off by that statement.
