How can the US not win with the Master and Commander Russell Crowe at the helm?

Great win, including short handed goal. Belgium will be a tough test w/o our best scorer.

The US lost its best player this tournament to those chippy slavs.

Also, they killed the US in a friendly earlier this year.

USA -130 at the moment. Surprised. Would have guessed Belgium -200.

But, current odds may be just heavy betting by Americans caught up in the moment.

Belgium will be ruthless when given scoring chances.

I know so little about soccer and I love it. So far it has been fun to watch.

It took a couple years to learn the game and the appreciate its majesty. The most professional and talented athletes in sports.

The business side can be a bit dodgy, in part because each club is its own financial entity, unlike the NFL or NBA or MLB where league commissioners have the power. My other beef is that the players do not have enough of an off season to recuperate. It’s a grueling schedule between league play and other tournaments to include playing for one’s national team.

The announcers are terrific. One can learn a lot from watching games.

Early on, I figured out that I needed a team to follow and root for. I picked Chelsea only because I knew the neighborhood after living in London for 4 months in 1988. Went to a game at Stamford Bridge in 2019, which was a terrific experience.

It’s a beautiful game. And a two hour commitment vs 3.5 hours.

We have so many other options. I fucking love it, my wife and I travel a fair bit and always end up in Irish Pubs somewhere in the world having the best time watching. This is the best US team ever…they will lose to the France’s of this tournament but we should be proud of where this team is at.

Slightly better than a Mexican
