Isn't that the normal call for taking out a player in the box? It didn't look like the goalie touched the ball, but maybe he tipped it and that was the difference? But, then why the PK?
Calls like this (and the flopping these calls induce) make international soccer look ridiculous.

Looked like more of a "jump ball," and it also looked like the toe of the England player touched the ball, so it seemed like a 50-50 play, but Mexico gets a point off of it. Maybe ref had no choice because they were in the box, but that makes it worse.
I admit I'm not a soccer expert. It just seems like referee calls have more impact on the final outcome of the games in soccer than in any other sport other than gymastics and other pure judging "sports."
