Rumor swirling that MItch McConnell is brain-dead
The Kentucky GOP has already changed the rules on his replacement, however - they passed a law a couple of years ago making it impossible for the governor to appoint an interim successor. Very few states do this. But since the state has a Democratic governor, they could not let the rules stand.
Anyway, there may be a new election in Kentucky soon. Maybe Beshear will run - not sure if he is term-limited, or more interested in the presidency....
