My first thought is that this is a pussy move by Congress, and Obama is correct to veto it.
If Congress thinks Saudi Arabia is responsible for 9/11, then pass a resolution with sanctions, demanding action by Saudi Arabia (imprisonments, compensation), or even declare war if they really think that. This "let the families sue" seems like a cop out to me, a shirking of their duties.
If Congress really wants this to pass, put it to a vote (the veto override vote), and make the Congressman put their names down as for or against.
I honestly don't see this as a partisan issue, but since the bill passed by unanimous consent, it will be interesting to see which Democrats vote to override Obama.

could force the Saudi's to reveal information on the Bush admin in courts?
I'm all for exposure of the Bush admin so for me, I liked the bill but in fact it may be something that brushes up against national security issues. I think Obama is a bit of a blowhard when it comes to setting the record straight or following through on his tough talk so this tells me (the veto) he's acquiescing to the rich white guy, once again.
the military personnel or American citizens? This could open Pandora's Box and have unintended consequenses.
This thing where we all think we're entitled as American's is an attitude which is bullshit. It's about time we as American's take responsibility for our actions and not hide from them. If it means we need to change who we are then I'm all for the bill.
PS: the only reason Congress passed this bill was because they knew Obama would veto it - it was a show of solidarity to grab at the emotions of the American people - a show where Republican's can now say, "ya see, we're for the average citizen and the Democrats are note and Obama is not". That's all that happened.
