Quick to criticize his former boss he's now mute, abandoning the young men and women who he sent to Afghanistan. A couple of comments such as, "we cannot leave an American or SIV behind," or "we should reclaim Bagram to conduct an orderly evacuation," or "I'm concerned about the pace of the withdrawal" etc. would've helped light a fire under this Administration. But why speak out when the corporate board life at General Dynamics is so cushy? As they say don't bite the hand that feeds you.
At least Mattis had the sense to resign when he disagreed strongly with his Commander in Chief.
As for Austin (and Milley) they should have resigned instead of going along with Biden’s very ill advised evacuation plan. I am assuming they did oppose the plan. If they did agree then they didn’t deserve to continue in their jobs.
