How responsible for the NFL to add another week of high speed violent physical contact for its widgets.
An NFL game has as much appeal as watching dog fighting or demolition derby.
14 games was plenty. And a far superior product.

Do some simple research for crying out loud and stop using Hollywood movies as source material. Gladiators were anonymous slaves who died terrible deaths. Hardly better than the NFL.
……preseason + reg season = 20. I can almost guarantee that the number will drop by a commensurate number of preseason games.
Why? The preseason take goes entirely to owners. The players get a cut of reg season games in contracts and NFLPA.
Owners like the meaningless preseason games to make their hay(it is why the exist).
It is still not wise due to injury risk IMO, but that is the premise that the owners and players have been dancing around for years.

And there are no playoffs.
Each of the 20 teams plays the other 19 teams, one at home, one away.

The EPL schedule starts in mid-August and goes to the end of May. That's almost 10 months. Mixed into their schedule they've got FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Champions League and Europa League games. And that's just their club team commitments. For country, they have World Cup and Euro qualifying rounds (not in the same calendar years, but still...) that are scheduled within the EPL season. And when the EPL season ends the best players are off to play for their countries in World Cup and Euro tourneys.
It's a helluva busy schedule with no long period of downtime like other team sports. It's one reason why a lot of these guys have such a short shelf life and it's hard to find many performing at championship levels into their 30s. They burn out in their late 20s from wear and tear.

From a business standpoint, doesn’t an extra game dilute the importance of each game? More wiggle room for each team to recover after a loss.
It would be like changing PGA golf matches to 19 holes. A bogey causes less damage.

Either this or allow free movement up from the practice teams with salary bumps and no impact on $$ cap.
