Around me, vaccination does not seem to be a political issue. I live in a blue county, but the red county next door has an almost identical vaccination rate to my county. People are getting vaccinated...at least, around me. Granted, it seems there is a minority in both parties who are "hesitant." Are there any GOP office holders opposing vaccinations?
Masks do seem to be a political issue. I wore them before during the first wave, but to date, I still do not personally know anyone who has died of Covid. That tends to make me think that perhaps masks should not be required in my area. Perhaps that is not the case with you in your area?
All the Republicans I know are vaccinated... which is why they don't wear masks unless required.
But none of their kids are. Does nor seem necessary and might be harmful long term.

The protocol in my kid's school district says if you are exposed to someone with a positive covid
test you need to quarantine for 7 to 14 days (depending on if you go get tested). If you are vaccinated, then you are not required to quarantine. This makes zero sense to me since you can still transmit the virus if you are vaccinated.

The general population of adults don't follow the rules making the masks placebos in most cases.
Young kids never follow the rules, and touch their faces even more with masks making them worse than not wearing them. Plus, many don't learn well with distractions adding in that further very bad aspect.
You nail it. I am a mask advocate. But from my observation, 80% adult's wearing mask is not correct.
Wearing mask is not an easy thing. If most adults couldn't do it, how could kids, who are much more active than adults, wear it correctly? But the most important argument is covid is not a threat to kids.
The CDC list instructions on how to use mask and I do not personally know anyone who follows those
rules. Myself included. I stick it in my pocket once I'm outdoors and then put the same mask back on when I go inside.

Any solid evidence masks work? Studies seem to be all over the place. Children wearing masks, dropping them, stepping on them, not washing their hands then touching them, that has safety written all over it. Wear a mask. They don't work. Double mask. triple mask. N95 are the only useful masks. Paper masks are just pretending. St Fauci and the CDC change their collective minds by the day.
