Other than the actual event, what's troubling to me is how quickly the second officer arrives. He's suddenly there coming from the other direction. Just seems odd to me.
The judge has ruled the jury may consider a lesser charge of manslaughter.
The feeling must be that this jury can't see this as murder.
The only privilege to shoot a fleeing person by a police officer is if the person is a felon and poses an immediate danger or threat of death or serious bodily injury to someone else.
That doesn't appear to be the case here.
I don't know the SC criminal code, but that looks like murder not manslaughter to me.

He knew the mans name, address and history - he was going nowhere and not only that, the guy was out of shape and was more likely to pass out from exhaustion by running hard a few meters farther. This to me was Murder. Basically he was getting his gun off.

Pick him up later on his outstanding warrant. To shoot him in the back while running away is murder. If I'm missing something, please feel free to fill me in.
