It's pretty clear that people only like the electoral college when it helps their guy win.
Keep in mind that unbound electors are a legal, legitimate part of the process. I'm sure you will be A-OK with a few not voting for Trump even in areas he won, right? Afterall, its what the founders intended, right?
Bottom line is Trump won based on the rules in place at the time. That doesn't mean we shouldn't change the rules for the next election. It may actually benefit Trump in 2020. Too soon to tell.
