capitalism.
Wall Street Journal also blasted it.

Whe a parent company has billions of dollars in government contracts, they sure as hell better not be sending jobs to Mexico anymore.
THIS was the stick that was truly being used. the 7 million in subsidies that i read about are a mere drop in the bucket, and they do not even match the upgrades that Carrier will need to make to accommodate their change in plans. Also, the taxes collected on those 1000+ jobs will more than cover the tab within a year.
I personally think that the hemorrhage of manufacturing in this country has reached a point where drastic measures are needed. We don't MAKE much of anything anymore, and should we ever find ourselves in a conventional war, we are going to be in dire straits. We also have a system here in the US where we gain no tax dollars for those products imported, but it we manufacture them ourselves, we do gain tax dollars from that.
This Carrier deal made sense on many levels. The left is simply bitter.
And it's 800 jobs.

Just admit you have no consistency.
Give me an honest answer, were you in favor of the 09 auto bailout which took place during a much bigger jobs emergency?
