Let's see who volunteers to be a partisan moron.
Aren't you the single issue voter that voted for Trump because he was going to nominate a Supreme Court candidate that promised to overturn Roe v. Wade?
How's that going for you?
(Or not...in your case.)

On the other hand, if HRC were appointing someone, we would definitely know their position on abortion, and I know it would be worse than Gorsuch's. His is likely to be a nuanced position at worst, which is better than I would have gotten from an HRC appointee. Even if he is just for states rights on that issue, it would be a tremendous improvement.
So, to answer your question, I guess I have to say that this is working out quite well for me.
WH? This guy is batshit nuts, and this Obama tapping allegation is proof of it.

Regardless, I'm ok with a lot of things now. I've learned to sit back and relax.
During the campaign Trump promised to nominate a candidate that would support overturning Roe v. Wade. Gorush said Trump never asked him, and if he did he would have walked out of the room. Further Gorush said today that Roe v. Wade is a precedent of the Supreme Court and he is reluctant to overturn previous decisions.
I only caught a little bit of his testimony but he sounds like a pretty decent, respectful guy. Like he's his own man.
Trump obviously hadn't thought about the issue of abortion for 2 seconds prior to his campaign. His early interviews on the topic were terribly embarrassing. He knew he was supposed to be pro-life (because he had chosen to run as a Republican), but he had no idea what that meant.
Not surprising. He is not a conservative or an ideologue in any way.
The only reason abortion became important to him (to the extent that it did) was because it was important to voters.
If you recall my posts on this topic during the election, I pointed out that it was better to choose an unknown than a known evil. I stand by that.
I suspect that he got a list of justices from some conservative. SCOTUS wasn't a concern of his at the time. He published his list to appease what he hoped would become his right-base.
We'll see how it turns out.
You seem to think I should be disappointed about all this. I will be disappointed if Gorsuch doesn't vote pro-life. But, I knew what I was voting for. I have no illusions.
before Castro, Libya under Quaddafi, Egypt under Mubarak, even Iraq under Saddam are all situations where a known bad was followed by an even worse unknown.

the predecessor regimes named above in terms of known badness.
"Known bad followed by even worse unknown."
There is plenty I thought was bad under Barry.
But I would have bet money that it would be worse under this clown.
Listen up Canuck.
There's the United States of America and then there's The United States of America, Inc.
One is a founding fathers' concept, the other is a global, criminal organization.
If you accept that your guy lied to you you're an enabling partisan hack. I can't support a liar regardless of the political party. I've been consistent on this.
Here's a little tome for ya' regarding American history...
Since the Act of 1871 which established the District of Columbia, we have been living under the UNITED STATES CORPORATION which is owned by certain international bankers and aristocracy of Europe and Britain.
In 1871 the Congress changed the name of the original Constitution by changing ONE WORD — and that was very significant as you will read.
Some people do not understand that ONE WORD or TWO WORDS difference in any “legal” document DO make the critical difference. But, Congress has known, and does know, this.
1871, February 21: Congress Passes an Act to Provide a Government for the District of Columbia, also known as the Act of 1871.
With no constitutional authority to do so, Congress creates a separate form of government for the District of Columbia, a ten mile square parcel of land (see, Acts of the Forty-first Congress,” Section 34, Session III, chapters 61 and 62).
The act — passed when the country was weakened and financially depleted in the aftermath of the Civil War — was a strategic move by foreign interests (international bankers) who were intent upon gaining a stranglehold on the coffers and neck of America.
Congress cut a deal with the international bankers (specifically Rothschilds of London) to incur a DEBT to said bankers. Because the bankers were not about to lend money to a floundering nation without serious stipulations, they devised a way to get their foot in the door of the United States.
The Act of 1871 formed a corporation called THE UNITED STATES. The corporation, OWNED by foreign interests, moved in and shoved the original Constitution into a dustbin. With the Act of 1871, the organic Constitution was defaced — in effect vandalized and sabotaged — when the title was capitalized and the word “for” was changed to “of” in the title.
THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is the constitution of the incorporated UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
It operates in an economic capacity and has been used to fool the People into thinking it governs the Republic. It does not!
Capitalization is NOT insignificant when one is referring to a legal document. This seemingly “minor” alteration has had a major impact on every subsequent generation of Americans.
What Congress did by passing the Act of 1871 was create an entirely new document, a constitution for the government of the District of Columbia, an INCORPORATED government. This newly altered Constitution was not intended to benefit the Republic. It benefits only the corporation of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and operates entirely outside the original (organic) Constitution.
Instead of having absolute and unalienable rights guaranteed under the organic Constitution, we the people now have “relative” rights or privileges. One example is the Sovereign’s right to travel, which has now been transformed (under corporate government policy) into a “privilege” that requires citizens to be licensed.
By passing the Act of 1871, Congress committed TREASON against the People who were Sovereign under the grants and decrees of the Declaration of Independence and the organic Constitution.
The Act of 1871 became the FOUNDATION of all the treason since committed by government officials.

Here is our position on the role of government:
1. Collect a reasonable tithe from everyone, use it responsibly for the good of the people and don't spend more than you collect.
2. After collecting your tithe, my bank account is for my use not yours.
3. Stay out of my bedroom.
4. Follow #1, #2 and #3 and we won't have any issues.

You don't even know you're a member. Oh, and there are no dues.
...at least in the U.S. and I suspect, in Canada, as well.
Back in the days of the founders, elected officials volunteered to serve for one or two years.
Since they were among the best and the brightest, the community, at large, benefited greatly from their financial acumen and tolerant, yet prudent, attitudes.
After a short tenure, they returned to their origins in the community and continued in their livelihood.
These days, it's a stepping stone to a career as a politico, regardless of qualifications...from top to bottom.
Shameless and pitiful, I say.

Wrong about what? We have elected a POTUS who is absolutely insane - formed a gov't around self-involved money grabbers bent on allowing corporate interests rule a people? What should we feel partisan about and acknowledge we're wrong this whole time?
