Then, the Democrats can consider whether they want NEA dollars handed out to conservative artists, making tributes to the Second Amendment, instead of tributes to liberal causes, or Piss Jesus, and the like.
The budget is being debated now. We would find out if they really want the government to decide which artists get paid by the government.

So you didn't like something but once again the moment you disagree with that something all else you will disagree without consideration.
Of course not. Even if you did, my position is the same.
Here is what I disagree with: National government funding the arts.
Let the private sector do that.
The government has no business promoting artwork, for the Left, or the Right, or for atheists, or for religionists. Doesn't matter. Privatize the NEA and/or bar it from receiving public funds. And, until it is abolished, Trump should appoint NEA leaders (assuming he has that power) who will use NEA funds for whatever he wants to use them for.
Privatize the NEA? I am laughing out-fucking-loud. Of all the dumb things you have said on this board, that one is up there.
It's clear you don't know what the NEA actually does.
though oft attributed to Churchill - the quote in reply to funding the war effort and cutting all funding for the arts - "then what are we fighting for" is a valuable sentiment no matter who said it.
Expression in a democratic society is part of the very foundation of who we are - the right to express. Harry Lime character had a point though about conflict being fecund oxygen for creativity. However, cutting programs like the NEA only supports closed mindedness and antipathy.
Even the monarchs of old supplemented the arts -
Your argument is lackluster.

funding from the NEA?
I suppose you are trying to make a point that the NEA would fund pro-second amendment art if such art existed? That's BS, and I think you know it.
