...I am surprised the Dems shot their wad on Gorsuch who was so credible to the general public that it only made the Dems look like poor losers when they filibustered. Now, if a left wing justice needs replacement, the right can correctly point out that the whole thing is political to the left and they would oppose ANY Republican nominee. This has weakened the democrats in the court of public opinion which is the only court they have left to make their appeal. Really stupid politcial move by Schumer.
It has been SO long since a GOP politician schooled democrats in political savvy. My hat is off to you, Mitch McConnel!
My guess is President Trump's nominee will get a hearing. Correct?

Your team played this one like chumps.

Does that surprise you? Do you think Shumer organized the first filibuster in supreme Court nominee history because he thought Gorsuch was unqualified? Of course you don't. You know it's a partisan game and your team played the game like chumps.
They should have let Gorsuch in and then prayed that RBG survives four years. If not, they should have tried their filibuster then. At least they would have had a shred of moral indignity that the NYT editorial board would really rally around. Maybe even peel off McCain and Collins in the cloture rule change vote. Chuckie got run over by Mitch.
rather than the opposition party. That's a no brainer - either way, and always has been. Party's don't block their own president's nominees because they are lame ducks. Opposing parties do.
But if you feel better calling McConnel a hypocrite - feel free. In the meantime, i will be calling Neil Gorsuch "Justice Gorsuch".

Toughen up, Buttercup!
And afterall, as a lawyer, you only care about what is legal, correct? (or is that only when it serves your cause?)

The oath is not to to protect a political party or their agenda. A duly elected President nominated Judge Garland in March 2016. Mitch McConnell and others betrayed their oaths.
....don't you love having your own rules used against you? You have taught us well. It must be frustrating for you not to have capitulating John McCain type of GOP leader anymore.
I can't wait for the incidental foreign surveillance of the Dems to begin now that Trump has been told that it's all perfectly legal. We should be able to make it much more paralyzing to your campaign and any future president you place in office.
Run with whatever narrative allows you to justify fraud after fraud.
Quote from article:
"In addition, Rice didn’t like to play by the rules, including the top-secret ones. On multiple occasions, she asked the NSA to do things they regarded as unethical and perhaps illegal. When she was turned down—the NSA fears breaking laws for any White House, since they know they will be left holding the bag in the end—Rice kept pushing.
As a longtime NSA official who experienced Rice’s wrath more than once told me, “We tried to tell her to pound sand on some things, but it wasn’t allowed—we were always overruled.” On multiple occasions, Rice got top Agency leadership to approve things which NSA personnel on the front end of the spy business refused. This means there may be something Congress and the FBI need to investigate here."
