It's darn difficult to be happy when you're afraid. I know there have been subsequent studies that reflect higher levels of neuroticism among liberals, which probably jibes with your own observations here and apart from the interwebs.
When we look at COVID beliefs, liberals are much more likely to overestimate or grossly overestimate the danger. As someone else has pointed out, liberals are more frightened of COVID after they've been vaccinated, than before. Another possible measure is the common belief among liberals that we are at, or have passed, the climate "tipping point," and indeed some, like the shadow Speaker of the House, hold that the earth will perish in a few decades if we don't pass certain legislation immediately. How often are groups of people who contend the world is coming to an end eventually shown to be kooks? Think back to last year and The Madness, and polling that emerged during the riots and mayhem. Liberals polled about police shootings of unarmed suspects were off by factors of three/four/five. And then consider four years of daily predictions of imminent doom for the republic...tomorrow. Always tomorrow. Just wait. If he had barricaded himself in the WH and hung on one more day, that would've been it. Poof. Kaboom. There goes the US of A as we know it. Did some say these things for effect, and was some of it street theater dramatics? Sure, but we all know liberals who really believed we were on the precipice every single day. Like me, you may have had family members who believed this. Also like me, you probably took pity on them, seeing the effects of their irrational fears.

I subscribe to WSJ because I am involved in the markets and enjoy columnists like Henniger, etc.
Through the pandemic, maybe 10% of front section stories dealt with covid.
Needing newspaper to start fires in fireplace last winter, I bought the Sunday NYT. Fully 55% of stories in the first section were about covid. I was stunned.
The news we read drives our state of mind. Libs are terrified of covid because it is all they see. Conservatives are enraged by Hunter because it is all we see.
There is no longer an "independent" news source
Is there a page which talks about today's conservatives who blame the proverbial "them" for all their troubles. You know the guys who Trump complained about
in his speeches about the Muslim's, the Mexican's, the gays, Obama who was not a born American and more? -
how about the "them" Baron's, Limbaugh preached against? Or the support of all the inane hate and fear repeated here from the Tucker Carlson
nightly rant about the "them" and "Libs" who have taken away the life style of Americans turning the country into a socialist country or communist
country or both - who can possibly remember which, (I guess on any given night it's what he wants it to be)? It's an endless and nightly rant, the "thems"
on FOX TV. Always the signaling and fear from the righties.
Yes, some Libs don't like contracting COVID19 and fear catching and then giving to others. Oooooo - bad Libs.

An allergy pill for me? You see, mine doesn’t work unless everyone around me takes one too. I would appreciate the help.
is you heard that false analogy from someone else and now repeated as if it were genius.
Work unless you use it too. Listen, if you want to live in fear after being vaccinated, be my guest. I respect your decision to do that. I you feel the vaccine doesn’t protect you, that is on you. I’m going to go about my life and live. All I ask is the same respect. If not, then you have issues that only you can fix.

even when your outside and not close to people? I see you as one of these people who drive alone with a mask on. Would you let an unvaccinated person at your dinner table for one of your parties?
I'll bet you refuse to wear a mask should a business require it.
I will wear one. I will fly for work and wear one. I try not to visit places that force those rules but will respect their choice. But thank goodness the virus is smart and won't touch people who are sitting at a restaurant. I try not to stand in them because then you become a target for the virus.
How about people in your life? I'm sure you have cut people out of you life and won't invite them if they are unvaccinated even though you are protected? Me, I have not. I have friends who are vaccinated and unvaccinated.
Seems to me MAS got it wrong and it's you guys selling the fear.
little man. Not sure how me living my life is spreading fear. I will not push people out of my life because of vaccination status and I am sure you have. If they want to, that is on them and I cannot change their minds. But go ahead and blame me because you don't trust the vaccine. Brilliant thinking.

about how much you deflect and not answer anything directed at you. Sad , sad little man.
Deflection, deception and then ultimately disappear when challenged. When he does respond neatly packaged sound bites from others. Nary and original thought. Ironically exactly what he accuses others of doing.

You don’t get to 50k in posts by not. I’m thinking about starting a pool on when he hits 50k. You guys want in?

Chris knows kids have little to worry about when it comes to the Kung Flu but it helps his fear narrative. Just like yesterday with him spouting a bible verse to help try and prove a point. It's all bullshit to scare people into doing what they want. And if he is that concerned, I hope he would get his children vaccinated to protect them.
