I was reading The Observer just to pass the time. I noticed that the letters to the editor and opinion page is one big grievance feast. It seems that there are a few "lucky to be ND students" who consider themselves victims. Do mommy and daddy know this? Do the majority of these young minds who are ND students feel the same? The same ones who are hoopin' and hollerin' , rushing the field, and throwing snowballs (yesterday it was a hot dog and I don't blame them). Do they feel like victims? Did Bon Jovi's white privileged son start this? What the hell is going on with some of these youngsters?

The young people "in my day" were too busy trying to stay alive in an overseas war and working their apprenticeships in the steel mills, oil refineries, foundries, and railroads. Only the privileged back then had the time to blow up buildings and incite violence as they protest a war. How ironic. They had no self awareness. Live a little. Support yourself. Pay taxes. Work in the real world , then, and only then, come back and preach to the rest of us how hard you have it.
And now... we treasure our ND memories.
