Can be successful candidates or losers.
1. Barry Goldwater - How the hell did this guy get into politics? He wouldn't make it two seconds in the current GOP.
2. Cal Coolidge - The best President of the 20th century?
"I bet I can get you to say more than two words"
"You lose"
3. Paul Tsongas - The rare Democrat honest enough to say entitlements need overhauling and domestic spending cuts are necessary.
4. Mitt Romney - In a line of work where phoniness is art, he's Monet.
5. Aaron Burr - Bang!

No other candidates in my lifetime flat-out embarassed their opponents like these two. The moment they started talking you knew Carter/Bush had already lost the debate. I still think Clinton is the best townhall debater in the history of American politics. Full of shit perhaps, but he had an uncanny ability to talk to people instead of at people.
As for some losers, got to go with John Anderson and Birch Bayh.
I can't speak for presidential candidates before I was born. But I think I would have loved the two Roosevelts and maybe Al Smith.

I just loved his charts. Dennis Kucinich is fun too.
I do...vaguely.
After he spent the first couple infomercials attacking GHWB, he launched into Bubba and had a big chicken on the screen, something to do with Tyson and Bubba's close relationship with them.
People forget he was ahead in the polls in the summer of '92.

He was my first primary vote and my first vote for anyone. He ran for president in 1976 and was sleeping with Linda Ronstadt....I was 18....it seemed like quite an accomplishment at the time.
Stockdales debate performance made him an all time classic......"Who am I, Why am I here."
Damn thing about it Stockdale had quite an impressive resume and was a genuine American hero.

THE last GREAT President of the U.S.
Conservatives these days have no clue as to the meaning of the word.
And all of the Mensa candidates (you know who you are) should pick up a book for a change and read about Teddy's Universal Health Care plan.
For that matter, try reading about Teddy Roosevelt, period. He is leagues above anyone that spews their venom on this board, including me.
I swear...each generation is getting dumbed down.

were here today. He would be labeled Genghis Khan with Hitler tendencies by the gutless left.
,,,favorite was the Ed Morris book.
You're setting the bar a bit high, no?
If you want a chuckle, consider men like TR or Jefferson, renaissance men, and then compare to the likes of the men we elect today.
