Following the election is really going to be different - in a bad way. This sucks. He was the best at what he did. I don't think there was a close second.

While in law school, an official from his alma mater, John Carroll University, called Russert to ask if he could book some concerts for the school as he had done while a student. He agreed, but said he would need money because he was running out of money to pay for law school. One concert that Russert booked was headlined by a then-unknown singer, Bruce Springsteen, who charged $2,500 for the concert appearance. Russert told this story to Jay Leno when he was a guest on the The Tonight Show on NBC on June 6, 2006[
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That one always slays 'em.
Buffalo wings with blue cheese, Cheese Steak sammys, Eggs Benny, Fettuccine al Fredyo, et al...
I tried to warn him.
Russert was always an enjoyable listen. Will miss him Sunday mornings.
...and gave a nice talk generally. He said at the time that "it has always been my wish that my son Luke would someday have the chance to attend this great University". Luke must've liked the Chestnut Hill stadium more than NDs.
Very sad all around, and he was certainly a figurehead in the press. Seems like a fairly big news event to the world, this death of a journalist. I wonder if everyone will grieve like this over Keith Olbermann.
Russert was definitely an icon in discussing politics and the
going ons inside the beltway. He may have been a couple degrees
left of center, but for the most part he was non-partisan and
his interviews were insightful. He will be missed.

Very sad news.
This bums me out. He's one of the few media guys I trusted implicitly. He asked the tough questions, no matter if you were a Democrat or Republican.
I love Tim Russert. Sunday mornings will not be the same.

Interestingly, with Father's Day coming up, Russert wrote two father-themed books: "Big Russ and Me" & "Wisdom of Our Fathers"
Very sudden, I wonder if he has had problems before.
But you look at the John Ritters or David Lettermans and it shows how quickly a heart ailment can jump up.
