$1.3 Trillion dollar spending bill
Proof that no politician (except maybe that crazy guy Rand Paul) can get elected or stay in office if he or she does not support giving everyone tons of free stuff. Interest rates are going up. Refinancing the massive Federal debt will eventually be the biggest cost next to "defense" and massive unfunded entitlements.

became president and issued tariffs on China. China didn't have much economic sense during any of our presidents before Trump in the last 25 years.

That's their mean, not their goal. Their goal is to have their huge rural population fully employed
They want to have jobs for their people. If everybody has a job, even the profit margin for that job is very thin, they are ok with that. Chinese government understands political instability, social instability... all come from unemployment. This employment-oriented economy policies started 30 years ago when China had 900 million farm population and it achieved huge success. No official stat, but it is widely believe the farm population has dropped to around 200 million.
