So, who on here has been to Alaska?

I may be flying up there soon (top secret, if I told you........you know the rest.)

Just looking for general information about personal experiences there, etc.

Will probably be in the areas of Sitka and Anchorage.

Thanks in advance.

Was there many times back in my GI days (Elmendorf and Eilson AFBs), plus my former ND roommate - and best man - is a life-long resident of Fairbanks. I would move there tomorrow if I could.

Just take it all in. The whole state is gorgeous. Have never been to the panhandle area. Denali is pretty phenomenal.

No visit to Anchorage is complete w/o a visit to the Great Alaskan Bush Company.

Just about as Tom states. I have only overnighted in Anchorage on my way up to Prudhoe Bay.

FLIrish:

Take a rain jacket for sure and wear long pants. It can get pretty cold if it is raining and the wind is blowing. In July and August you can catch some decent weather if you are lucky. Not much to see in the towns but the scenery is spectacular. If you get a chance take a ride up to the pass used by those trying to get to the Klondike during the Gold Rush. You can access it at Skagway and take a bus up and the train down or vice versa, it is really worth seeing.

Since I'm not sure when you're trying to tell a joke, I figured I'd be safe and just laugh out loud.

I've listen to that sickening Obama shit for nearly 2 years now.

It's scary, just thinking about him being a president. He just too naive and inexperienced. Most pacifist are. Lead our military? You're joking. Lead our economy? Your really joking.

See my "Iran oil hoarding post" above. Thank you.
