Dems had 180 degree different view on separating a child from his family on that one. How about David Koresh and the Branch Davidian? They felt it was so important to separate the children from these "christian cultists" that they burned them alive - and that included Eric Holder's participation.
What about the idea that "it takes a village to raise a child"?
The Left is taking some pretty bold new ground on the opposite side of the issue suddenly. I wonder if it might be related to a distraction from the congressional IG interviews going on right now, and the fact that the Mueller probe is being exposed as the actual witch hunt that it has been claimed to be?

I also read one of the books this series was based on "Waco a Survivor's Story". One thing that I learned was that if Koresh had just properly registered the guns he would have been fine as far as the firearms were concerned. There was no law against stockpiling them.
Now DK did have issues being a polygamist fathering children with underage girls. However he could have been picked up while he was in town there was really no reason to storm the compound. I believe that the ATF wanted to flex its muscle after Ruby Ridge and make an example of the Davidians.
I don't remember Holder being mentioned but Janet Reno and Clinton were involved. Hard to believe they OKed a plan that was sure to lead to the massive fire that ensued based on similar incidents where the teargas was used.
My conclusion after watching: if you aren't a mainstream religion the government deems legitimate and you have access to guns then you could find the black helicopters flying over your roof.
The raid's code name was "Showtime." Appropriate, since the ATF invited media along to tape the raid...the only reason they did the raid the way the did. Of course, it was a total fiasco.
To bring it back on topic: The Waco massacre was far worse than anything Trump has done at the border.
