That is the biggest problem, IMO.

I lived in London for five years and experienced the sport scene at close quarters. Rugby is great, cricket is surprisingly fun. Soccer blows chunks. Sorry. I would rather watch freaking golf on TV* than be strapped in a chair for a loathsome game of futbol.
*To Clarify: Watching golf is one step above being locked in a cold, dark basement for a few hours. That means soccer is one step below said basement.
Baseball and cricket have something in common: You have to watch a lot of it to really appreciate what is happening.
Speaking of cricket, are you familiar with the "Underarm Incident in 1981...the most disgraceful moment in cricket history"? I don't get cricket.

The atmosphere at a big cricket match is outstanding. Very boisterous with everyone having a good time. Beer vendors walk around with Fosters kegs on their backs and the crowd just has a great time no matter what is happening on the pitch. Rugby and cricket share that - fantastic crowds. Soccer is the polar opposite. Absolutely loathsome fans. They can’t serve a drop of beer in the stands for fear of riots. It’s ridiculous.

Baseball need to get and stay under 3 hours if they want to survive this century.
Baseball is hard to watch outside of October anymore.
