Woodford Reserve neat.
I slow-roasted a large duck with garlic, olive oil, pink Himalayan salt, lemon. Red skin (on) mashed potatoes. Italian Sausage and Herb Stuffing. A 3-layered hand-whipped mousse (Dark Chocolate, Butterscotch, White Chocolate) for dessert.
We were so stuffed we couldn't finish. Tempted to spread out the courses, but unsure an 8- and 5-year-old have the attention span for it. What is your timing for that?
I had one medium slice, ate some veggies and prayed I wouldn't pass out from overeating. Dessert went okay but that happened an hour or so later.
She kept up but felt the same by dinner's end. We don't have children so it's an as we go dinner experience.
We went for a walk later, got back an hour or so later from that and polished off another bourbon each.
She likes to go more traditional with the cooking.
I like your meal more. I'll send this to her computer for a look see - see if she'll come up with something similar if not the same for a birthday dinner.
Mashed potatoes, sausage, duck - awesome. That butterscotch mousse is right up my alley.
I had a healthy hangover today - I hangovers can be healthy. I'm into a Woodford Reserve right now. Seriously, I have to find limits and stick to them.

a facade to impress people. Weak, insecure people do that alot. He's the poster boy for it. Nobody believes 10% of the drivel he posts.

with this omi. I know you posted that all guests got tested before attending this gethering. But, since you all are very cautious don't you think it is more important to get tested after a big gethering event? On the other hand, don't panic if any of them test positive. It's also true that Omi is indeed very mild.
Btw, What main ingredients used for that braided pork? Cider? I am sure it is not braised pork with soy sauce. LOL.

I went with the jumbo scallop over lobster risotto; Chateubriand, and the crème brûlée.

no doubt good memories.
btw, with 9 Down Votes thus far, I think I'm finding my groove...remember the "Mom & Apple Pie" reference?...this seems to be working ;-).
Great job on the 9 downvotes.
The Cracker Barrel faithful are sounding off!
I know you realize the Democrats are the elitist party now, and that you are losing normal every day Americans. You can decide to revel in that. We'll see if that works for you. It might. Time will tell.
I knew the Cracker Barrel reference would draw at least one “elitist” retort from the sensitive “no humor” crowd.
So, you've got that going for you.
The Democrats have clearly lost a substantial chunk of those voters, and are well aware of the need to convince blue collar voters to not vote against their kitchen table interests. Trump did a great job selling them fear. Democrats helped with the wokeness and coastal elitism. Not a secret.
The Biden and Pelosi Democrat agenda is clearly focused on working families. They need to sell it better.
for the rich, and corporate welfare now reps them. Go figure.
